The Fishing is super competitive but all in good spirits as the anglers compete for top honours. Kayak versus Jet Ski versus Ski Boat all go up against each other to determine the King of the Sea. Whilst competing for overall bragging rights they are also competing for the top place in their respective categories making it even more interesting and fun. Alongside the fishing competition we also have the annual Freedivers King of the Bugs crayfish competition meaning those who hunt below the surface can join in the fun. All festivities and registration takes place at Pumula Beach Hotel. Live music, seafood braais, wine tasting, sponsors demos and great family vibe make this a weekend to remember The fish that can be weighed in to count for the top prizes are Couta, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo and Snoek. Points are allocated per species as per below and the overall winner is determined by the highest points tally. Yellowfin Tuna - 1kg equals 1point Snoek (Queen Mackerel) - 1kg equals 1.5 points Couta (King Mackerel) - 1kg equals 1.5 points Wahoo - 1kg equals 1.75 points Launching can take place between Umkomaas in The North and Shelley Beach in the South and weigh-in takes place at Pumula Beach Hotel. Entry is R380 per angler and R480 for late entry after 13th May. Entry includes a shirt and awesome goody bag.
