Beating the Sharks and conditions

After almost two months of cyclonic seas and heavy rains we finally got a gap to launch and try take advantage of what was left of the Couta season. We set out with a plan to target some Snoek in the morning which was a great success. We then decided to go look for a bigger fish but with no bait around it made it a rather difficult start to the day. We finally manage managed to find what we were looking for and set out to go catch a Couta. When we arrived at the marks I was a little despondent as it was already 10 30 and the early bite was out the window. I set the baits and in 5 minutes had the top bait scream off I set the hooks and on the second run the hooks pulled!. I knew I had lost a good fish! about 45 minutes later the my dad noticed the live bait starting to panic which is sure tail sign for he’s in BIG SH1T . And As it goes the reel took off screaming and had 200m emptied in seconds! I knew immediately this was another good fish. We cleared the deck and I had to really pull this fish hard to get him away from the Tax man. Fortunately the tackle held and up came this beautiful 19kg fish.
We beat the weather, we beat the conditions and we beat the sharks! PS we are ready for the Festival
Cheers to a great day on the water!
